Job title: Football Coach
Location: Active Academy, Southend-on-Sea, various locations
Hours: 4 hours per week (3-4pm Monday-Wednesday, 4-5pm Thursday, term time only), with scope for extension
Start date: Immediate after DBS approval and initial training complete
Salary: The successful candidate will be paid per hour, with the wage being dependent upon experience. Typically £15 per hour +.
Closing date: 14th January 2023.
Job description and responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be coaching, instructing and engaging primary-aged children (KS1 and KS2) in football activities. 
- Experience and certifications: While no specific coaching certifications are required, a passion and strong knowledge of football are vital and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential. All necessary training will be provided before commencing work. 
- The successful candidate will receive support and guidance from the academy to deliver their coaching sessions. 
- Equipment management: All equipment is provided equipment, however, the successful candidate will need to transport equipment on a Thursday only. 
- Coaching philosophy: The successful candidate must embrace and promote the coaching philosophy that believes everyone can succeed in football. 
- Events and competitions: While there are no specific events or competitions, foster a positive and inclusive environment during training sessions. 
- The successful candidate must be committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of children at all times, and complete initial and ongoing safeguarding training. 
- To engage with parents/carers for maximum attendance and support of children and their families. 
- To be responsible for completing attendance registers. 
- Continuous support: Display a willingness to be supported in coaching endeavours and ongoing professional development. 
Qualifications and Skills:
- Passion for football and working with children. 
- Ability to transport equipment to and from sessions. 
- Enthusiastic and committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. 
- All safeguarding training will be provided upon appointing a successful candidate.
